ThePathar Ki Masjid stands on the bank of riverGanges near theTakht Shri Harmandir Saheb in the city ofPatna.[1]Parviz Mirza, son ofJahangir, established Pathar Ki Masjid in 1621.[2] The structure is built ofstone, and so it got its name as Pathar Ki Masjid. It is located onAshok Rajpath between Sultanganj and Alamganj.[3]
Pathar Ki Masjid is very popular among the localIslamic community. Apart fromreligious functions, this oldmosque is a major landmark of the city.[4]
Pathar Ki Masjid is also called Saif Khan's mosque, Chimmi Ghat mosque, and Sangi Masjid.
