Patara (Ancient Greek:Πάταρα) was a small ancient city inancient Cappadocia orLesser Armenia, (Tab. Peut.), later inPontus. The city lay on the major trade road fromTrapezus on theBlack Sea toSatala, and thence toLake Van.
Its site is located nearMadenhanları,Asiatic Turkey.[1][2]
