Patrick James Delaney (born 1940) is a Scottish formerfootballer who played for several clubs, primarilyMotherwell[1] andAirdrieonians, as acentral defender – though he began his career as acentre forward and could also play atfull-back. He was Motherwell's 'player of the year' in the1964–65 season.[8]
His fatherJimmy Delaney and his nephewJohn Kennedy were also footballers, both of whom played forCeltic andScotland.[9]
