Park made her entertainment debut in aSK Telecom commercial in 2005.[5] She launched her acting career a year later in the hitsitcomHigh Kick! (2006).[6] She continued to appear intelevision dramas, in roles such as the only daughter of a notoriousgangster inI Am Sam (2007)[7] and agumiho (nine-tailed fox in Korean mythology) in an episode of horror-themed dramaHometown of Legends (2008).[8] She played a villainous princess in theperiod dramaJa Myung Go (2009)[9] and a girl caught between two marathon runners inRunning, Gu (2010).[10]
Park's breakthrough came with the 2010 dramaSungkyunkwan Scandal, acoming-of-age drama in which her character, an intelligent and resourceful young woman, disguises herself as a boy in order to enter the most prestigiouslearning institution inJoseon.[12][13][14] This was followed in 2011 by another success withCity Hunter, based on thetitular Japanesemanga. Park starred oppositeLee Min-ho in a story about avigilante out for revenge and justice, and the secret service agent he falls for.[15][16][17] Park's success on the small screen resulted in increased advertising offers for the actress.[18]

In January 2024, Park appeared as the female lead in the fantasy revenge melodramaMarry My Husband alongsideNa In-woo (as Yoo Ji-hyuk), where she portrayed Kang Ji-won, an assistant manager who spends her days burdened by an incompetent husband, neglectful in-laws, and a hard work life, and becomes a cancer patient at a young age. She gets her revenge with the assistance of Yoo Ji-hyuk.[44]
In January 2025, Park departed from Hook Entertainment after her contract expired[45] and joined Dareum Entertainment.[46]
Park then starred inTV Chosun's crime-comedy seriesConfidence Queen, the Korean remake ofThe Confidence Man JP [jp], where she played a genius con artist. It was the first so-called first Korean Amazon Original Drama which streams exclusively onPrime Video globally andCoupang Play in South Korea on September 6, 2025.[47][48] She will star inTvN'sSiren's Kiss based on the 1999 Japanese television seriesKoori no Sekai [ja] byHisashi Nozawa, in which she will play a high-profile art auctioneer who becomes the center of a criminal investigation.[49]

On March 7, 2022, Park donated₩100 million to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association to help the victims of theUljin forest fire 2022, that started in Uljin and has spread to Samcheok, Gangwon.[53]
