Paremhat (Coptic:Ⲡⲁⲣⲉⲙϩⲁⲧ), also known asPhamenoth (Ancient Greek:Φαμενώθ,Phamenṓth) andBaramhat[1] (Arabic:برمهات), is the seventh month of the ancientEgyptian andCoptic calendars. It lies between March 10 and April 8 of theGregorian calendar.
Paremhat is also the third month of theSeason of the Emergence, when theNile floods recede and the crops start to grow throughout the land of Egypt.
The Coptic nameParemhat comes from the ancient Egyptian name "Month ofAmenhotep I" (Ancient Egyptian:pꜣ n jmn-htp.w), whowas deified at the end of his reignc. 1500 BC.[citation needed] The month had formerly been known asRekeh-Nedjes.
