Parasite is ascience fictionnovel written by Mira Grant (a pseudonym of American authorSeanan McGuire). It was released on October 29, 2013, byOrbit Books and is the first volume of the Parasitology trilogy.[1][2] The other two books in the series areSymbiont (November 25, 2014)[3] andChimera (November 24, 2015).[4]

The book envisages a world withfictional parasites, where people'simmune systems are maintained bygenetically engineeredtapeworms.[5]
