Parás is a rural municipal town in thestate ofNuevo León,[1]Mexico, founded on February 17, 1851. It lies southwest of theFalcón Reservoir inTamaulipas. It was founded in what was known asRancho Huizachal de los Canales. The nameParás is derived fromJose María Parás y Ballesteros [es], the first constitutional governor ofNuevo León.
