Papyrus 78, also known asP. Oxy. XXXVI 2684, is an early copy of theNew Testament inGreek. It is apapyrusmanuscript of theEpistle of Jude. It is designated by thesiglum𝔓78 in theGregory-Aland numbering of New Testament manuscripts. The surviving texts of Jude are verses 4–5 & 7–8. 𝔓78 is written in an elegant hand. Using the study of comparative writing styles (paleography), it has been assigned to the 3rd or 4th century CE.[1]

The Greek text of this codex is considered a representative of theAlexandrian text-type.𝔓78 displays a free text.[2] Due to its early date, Biblical scholarKurt Aland placed it inCategory I of his New Testament classification system..[1]

Present location

It is currently housed at theSackler Library (P. Oxy. 2684) inOxford.[1][3]

v7:υπεχουσαι (undergoing) becomesεπεχουσαι (holding fast to).
v8:ουτοι (these) becomesαυτοι (themselves).
v8:δοξας (plural: glories) becomesδοξαν (singular: glory).
