Papyrus 38 (in theGregory-Aland numbering), designated by𝔓³⁸, is an early copy of part of theNew Testament inGreek. It is apapyrusmanuscript of theActs of the Apostles, it contains only Acts 18:27-19:6.12-16. The manuscriptpaleographically has been assigned to the early 3rd century.^[1]

Although the text is quite short, the Greek text of this codex has been called a representative of theWestern text-type.Aland named it asFree text and placed inCategory IV. The text of this manuscript is related toCodex Bezae.^[2]

The manuscript was purchased inCairo in 1924.^[1]

It is now in theUniversity of Michigan (Inv. 1571) inAnn Arbor.^[2][3]
