Shalom Charly "Papi" Turgeman (Hebrew:פפי תורג'מן; born April 7, 1970) is an Israeli former basketball player.[1][2] He played in theIsrael Basketball Premier League and theEuroleague and was Captain of theIsrael national basketball team. In 1995 he was theIsrael Premier League Assists Leader.
Turgeman is 6 ft 5 in (1.96 metres) tall and weighs 190 pounds (86 kg), and played at the guard position.[1][3][4] His hometown isJerusalem, Israel.[4]
He played in theIsrael Basketball Premier League and theEuroleague.[1][5] Turgeman played for a decade forHapoel Jerusalem.[6][7] In 1995 he was theIsrael Premier League Assists Leader, with 6.5 per game.[8]
Turgeman also played for theIsrael national basketball team, and was its Team Captain.[9] He played in theFIBA 1997European Championship for Men, FIBA 1999 European Championship for Men, FIBA 2001 European Championship for Men, and FIBA 2003 European Championship for Men.[2]
