Paola Dionisotti (Italian pronunciation:[ˈpaːoladi.oniˈzɔtti,-djo-]; born 1946 inTurin) is an Italian-British actress active on stage and British television since 1975.
Dionisotti is the daughter of Italian literary criticCarlo Dionisotti and Marisa Pinna Pintor. She has two sisters: Anna Carlotta, aLatinist at theKing's College London, and Eugenia, a librarian.
A character actress best known on television for recurring roles as Lady Patricia Broughall inForever Green and Aunt Nicholls inHarbour Lights, Dionisotti also has had prominent roles inMiss Marple andMidsomer Murders. She is also known for playingLady Waynwood in theHBO fantasy seriesGame of Thrones.[1] On the stage, she is noted for her Shakespearean roles.[2] She starred inMichael Bogdanov's 1978Royal Shakespeare Company production ofThe Taming of the Shrew at theAldwych.[3] In 2014, she played the tavern landladyMistress Quickly in the RSC production ofHenry IV Parts One and Two.
