Panicos Orphanides (born 27 July 1961) is a Cypriot formerfootball manager and player.[1]
Aforward, played forAEL Limassol from 1977 to 1993, where he celebrated threeCypriot Cups.
As a manager, Orphanides started as an assistant toAndreas Michaelides in AEL Limassol. He then tookAEP Paphos and helped the team to earn promotion to theCypriot First Division in 2002. He took over atNea Salalmia. In 2003–04, the team easily won theCypriot Second Division and returned to the major league. In 2004–05, Nea Salamina reached the sixth place of theLeague.
Orphanides also managed his former teamAEL in the 2006–07 season, and againNea Salamina. On 28 September 2009 he announced his retirement from his managerial career.
