Palluel (French pronunciation:[palɥɛl]) is acommune in thePas-de-Calaisdepartment in the Hauts-de-Franceregion of France[3] 19 miles (31 km) east ofArras, in the valley of the riverSensée.
On 24 June 1967 a narrow F5tornado killed six and injuring 30 others. 17 homes were completely destroyed, vehicles were picked up and thrown over homes and trees were severely damaged. It reached 250 meters wide and traveled 23 km.[4][5] This was the most intense tornado to hit France since the1845 Montville tornado.[6]
