ThePaint Hills Islands are located inJames Bay, a part of theQikiqtaaluk Region, in theCanadian territory ofNunavut. They are southwest ofWemindji, Quebec (Cree for "red ochre mountain"), aCree community on Paint Hills Bay, and northeast ofSolomons Temple Islands.[1]
In 1950,Thomas Henry Manning studied high tide anddriftwood strand lines on Paint Hills Islands.[2]
