Patrick Mark Pimblett[5] (born 3 January 1995) is an English professionalmixed martial artist. A professional since 2012, Pimblett is a formerCage Warriors Featherweight Champion.[6] He currently competes in the Lightweight division of theUltimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of 3 February 2026, he is #6 in theUFC lightweight rankings.[7]
Paddy Pimblett was born on 3 January 1995[8] and grew up inHuyton, Merseyside. He attended St Margaret Mary's Primary school and Cardinal Heenan Catholic High school.[9] Influenced by the fight betweenRich Franklin andVitor Belfort atUFC 103, he started training inmixed martial arts at the age of 15, joining Next Generation MMA and deciding he would compete in the sport for a living shortly afterwards.[10]
Pimblett made his debut in 2012, aged 17, racking up a 3–0 record before signing withCage Warriors a year later.[11] In 2016, he claimed theCage Warriors featherweight championship, beating Johnny Frachey at theEcho Arena in Liverpool,[12] and defended it once againstJulian Erosa, winning a highly controversial unanimous decision.[13][14] In April 2017, Pimblett lost it againstNad Narimani[15] and moved up tolightweight.[16] After a win, he challenged for theCage Warriors lightweight championship, losing by unanimous decision to Søren Bak.[17][18] After two more wins in the organisation, Pimblett signed a contract with theUltimate Fighting Championship.[19][20] Pimblett had previously declined two UFC deals, getting better financial offers from Cage Warriors.[21]
Pimblett made his promotional debut againstLuigi Vendramini on 4 September 2021, atUFC Fight Night 191.[22] Pimblett won the bout via knockout in the first round.[23] This fight earned him aPerformance of the nightbonus.[24] In October 2021, Pimblett signed an endorsement deal withBarstool Sports worth over $1,000,000.[25]
Pimblett facedRodrigo Vargas on 19 March 2022 atUFC Fight Night 204.[26] He won the fight via submission in round one.[27] With this win, he received his second consecutivePerformance of the Night award.[28] Paddy would later reveal he made $12,000 to show and $12,000 to win.[29]
Pimblett next facedJordan Leavitt on 23 July 2022 atUFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall.[30] He won the fight via rear-naked choke submission in the second round.[31] This win earned him thePerformance of the Night award.[32]
Pimblett facedJared Gordon on 10 December 2022 atUFC 282.[33] He won the bout via unanimous decision.[34] The decision was met with controversy, as many media outlets, fighters, and fans expressed their belief that Gordon had won the fight.[35][36][37][38][39][40] 23 out of 24 media sources scored the fight in favour of Gordon.[41]
Pimblett facedTony Ferguson on 16 December 2023 atUFC 296.[42] He won the fight via unanimous decision.[43]
Pimblett facedKing Green on 27 July 2024 atUFC 304.[44] He won the fight by a triangle-choke submission in the first round.[45] This fight earned him a $200,000Performance of the Night award.[46]
Pimblett faced former three-timeBellator Lightweight World Champion (also formerUFC Lightweight Championship challenger)Michael Chandler in the five-round co-main event on 12 April 2025 atUFC 314.[47] He won the fight by technical knockout in the third round.[48] This fight earned him anotherPerformance of the Night award.[49]
Pimblett competed for the InterimUFC Lightweight Championship against former interim championJustin Gaethje on 24 January 2026 atUFC 324.[50] He lost the fight by unanimous decision.[51] This fight earned him a $100,000Fight of the Night award.[52]
Pimblett married his longtime girlfriend Laura Gregory on 28 May 2023 atPeckforton Castle inCheshire.[53] In November of the same year, the couple announced they were expecting twin daughters.[54]
Pimblett is a close friend of fellow mixed martial artistMolly McCann.[9]
Pimblett describes himself as asocialist and an opponent of theConservative Party.[9] He supports the Liverpool-wideboycott ofThe Sun newspaper.[55]
He is a supporter ofLiverpool Football Club and has expressed a desire to fight at the team's home stadium ofAnfield.[9]
Pimblett has said that his trademark floppy hair and lack of tattoos allows children to identify with him in a way that would not be possible for them to do if he was "a big hard fella with lots of tattoos".[9]
In October 2021, Pimblett signed a seven-figure sponsorship deal withBarstool Sports.[56] In December 2022, he launched The Baddy Foundation, a charity with the goals of improving men's mental health and helping children who facefood insecurity.[57] In that same month, he endorsed the hydration drink "Body Fuel".[58]
