Pablo de la Guerra (29 November 1819 – 5 February 1874) was aCalifornio politician, judge, and signer of theCalifornian Constitution in 1849. He served several terms in theCalifornia State Senate between 1849 and 1862, and as actinglieutenant governor of California from 1861 to 1862.[1]
Pablo, a member of theGuerra family of California (a prominentCalifornio family), was born on 29 November 1819, inSanta Barbara, California.[1]
In1838, Guerra became an Administrator. In 1849, he served as a delegate representing theSanta Barbara District at the First California Constitutional Convention.[1]
On 1 May1851, he nearly resigned from theState Senate,[1] but returned to the position which he held until 1861 when he became the leader of the senate, which led to his term as acting lieutenant governor.[2]
From 1861-62, he served as the Acting Lieutenant Governor. From 1863-73 he was the District Judge for the 17th Judicial District.[1]
Pablo de la Guerra died 5 February 1874, aged 54, inSanta Barbara, California.[1]
