Mohan is killed and the blame falls on Sivakumar. His sister Radhika files a case against Sivakumar. In the end it would be discovered that Cochin Haneefa killed Mohan and, to avenge him, Sivakumar killed Cochin Haneefa.
Paasa Paravaigal is a remake of Haneefa's own 1986Malayalam filmMoonnu Masangalku Mumbu.[1] Mohan dubbed in his own voice for the first time in a Tamil film.[2][3]
The music was byIlaiyaraaja and lyrics were written byGangai Amaran andVaali.[4][5] The song "Thenpandi Thamizhe" attained popularity.[6]

Paasa Paravaigal was released on 29 April 1988.[7] N. Krishnaswamy ofThe Indian Express wrote, "As long as the film dwells on the nuances in the relationships of its lead characters [...] it sails smoothly and with an assurance that signals bon voyage."[8] The film was a commercial success running for over 100 days in theatres.[1] It won theTamil Nadu State Film Award for Second Best Film,[9] and Radhika won theCinema Express Award for Best Actress – Tamil.[10]
