U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Prp3 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by thePRPF3gene.^[5]

Function

The removal ofintrons from nuclearpre-mRNAs occurs on complexes calledspliceosomes, which are made up of 4small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) particles and an undefined number of transiently associatedsplicing factors. PRPF3 is one of several proteins that associate with U4 and U6 snRNPs.[supplied by OMIM]^[5]
