PGC 1228197 known asWINGS J211347.41+022834.9 andJO206, is a largespiral galaxy located 700 millionlight-years away towards the constellation ofAquarius.[1][2] The galaxy is estimated to be at least 160,000 light-years in diameter, making it somewhat bigger than theMilky Way. With a radialvelocity of 15,226kilometers per second, it is slowly drifting away.[3]

PGC 1228197 is a member of a poorgalaxy cluster called II ZW 108. It has astellar mass of 8.5 × 1010 M.[4]

PGC 1228197 is classified as ajellyfish galaxy.[5][6] It has a lengthy tail that is ≥90 kpc wide, with ionizedgas stripped from the galaxy.[7] The galaxy is surrounded by its own magnetizedintracluster medium drape.[8]

Such process is caused when it interacts with other galaxies causing it to run intointracluster medium. The galaxy then undergoes a process ofram-pressure where its gas is stripped, forming long galactic tendrils ofstars.[5][9][10] Because matter is accreted into itssupermassive black hole, itsactive galactic nucleus is trigged.[11]
