PBA Finals Most Valuable Player award

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected fromPBA Finals MVP)

ThePhilippine Basketball Association (PBA)Finals Most Valuable Player award is an award given to the Filipino player who makes an outstanding performance during a conference finals given since the1996 All-Filipino Cup finals. The award is decided by the PBA Press Corps. Usually, the award is given to a player who is a member of the champion team in a conference and is given always at the end of the finals series.[1] There have been times two players from the same team shared the award, with the most recent duo to accomplish this feat beingJimmy Alapag andJayson Castro during the2011 Commissioner's Cup finals.[2] The award can only be given to local players and not the team's import.[3]

June Mar Fajardo,James Yap,LA Tenorio, andDanny Seigle are tied for the most PBA Finals MVPs in league history.[4] Seigle,Brandon Cablay, andMikey Williams are the only rookies to win the award, with Williams winning it in his first conference.[5] In2024, Castro became the oldest to win the award.[2]

Listed here are the PBA Finals MVP Awardees starting from 1996 up to the present.
