The field focuses primarily on, but is not limited to,Ancient Greece andAncient Rome duringclassical antiquity , theera spanning from the lateBronze Age ofAncient Greece during theMinoan andMycenaean periods (c. 1600–1100 BC) through the period known asLate Antiquity to the fall of theWestern Roman Empire , c. 500 AD.
