Oussama Souaidy (born 25 August 1981) is a retiredfootballer who played mainly as adefensive midfielder. Born in France, he representedMorocco at international level.
Born inCahors,France, Souaidy made twoLigue 1 appearances forFC Toulouse in the2000–01 season,[1] with the club being relegated straight to theChampionnat National due to irregularities. After one further campaign he moved to Spain, where he would remain until his retirement nine years later (with the exception of2005–06 which was spent in Portugal withG.D. Estoril Praia, in thesecond division).[2]
In the former country, Souaidy never played in higher thanSegunda División B, and spent his final five seasons inTercera División. He representedSD Noja,RCD Mallorca B,UDA Gramenet,AD Fundación Logroñés,CD Mirandés,[3]CD Alfaro andCD Tudelano,[4] retiring in June 2011 at nearly 30 years of age.
Souaidy won onecap forMorocco, in 2002. Additionally, he was part of the squad that appeared at the2004 Summer Olympics inAthens, appearing in all the matches as the national teamexited in the group stage with a total of four points.[5]
