History

Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish was formed in 1964 by Bishop Walter W. Curtis to relieve overcrowding in nearbySt. Mary's Church. The modern church with someRomanesque Revival features is located close to theAtlantic Ocean. The property is 5 acres and contains a rectory, convent, church, school building, and playground area.

The parish supported anelementary school that was designated aBlue Ribbon school in 2010.The school was closed in June of 2017 due to lack of enrollment.
