Otis Edgar Clymer (January 27, 1876 – February 27, 1926) was an AmericanMajor League Baseball player who was primarily aright fielder for four teams during his six-season career.[1] Born inPine Grove, Pennsylvania, he played for thePittsburgh Pirates,Washington Senators,Chicago Cubs, and theBoston Braves from 1905 to 1913.[1]
Clymer's most notable moment came on October 2, 1908, when hehit for the cycle.[2] When he left Major League baseball, he played for theminor leagueMinneapolis Millers of theAmerican Association from 1911 to 1914.[3]
In 385 games over six seasons, Clymer posted a .267batting average (355-for-1330) with 182runs, 2home runs, 98RBI, 83stolen bases and 99bases on balls.[1]
After his baseball career, which was hampered by constant leg injuries, Clymer became acar dealer.[4][5] He died at age 50 from anautomobile accident inSt. Paul, Minnesota.[6] He is interred at Willow River Cemetery inHudson, Wisconsin.[1]
