Oszkár Pál Gerde (8 July 1883 – 8 October 1944) was a Hungariansabrefencer who won team gold medals at the 1908 and 1912 Olympics.[4] After finishing his active career he judged international fencing competitions[5] and worked as a lawyer.[6] Being aJew, he was deported from Hungary in 1944, and killed in the same year at theMauthausen-Gusen Concentration Camp inAustria.[1][7] In 1989 he was inducted into theInternational Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.[5]
