Osteochilus is a genus of freshwaterray-finned fish belonging to thefamilyCyprinidae, the family which includes the carps, barbs, minnows and related fishes.[1] The fishes in this genus are mainly found inSoutheast Asia with a few extending into adjacent parts ofChina.[2]
