Abdul "Oscar" Umar is aGhanaian retiredfootballer who is currently an assistant coach for thePenn State Nittany Lions men's soccer team.
Umar played four years ofcollege soccer atVillanova University between 2011 and 2014. Following his time at Villanova, Umar coached soccer atCabrini University and played withPremier Development League sideOcean City Nor'easters in 2016,[1] andNational Premier Soccer League sideWest Chester United in 2017.[2]
Umar signed withUnited Soccer League sideRichmond Kickers on 13 July 2017.[3]
Umar moved to USL Championship sideSaint Louis FC ahead of their 2019 season.[4] Saint Louis FC folded following the2020 USL Championship season.[5]
In July 2023, Umar joined thePenn State Nittany Lions men's soccer staff as an assistant coach.[6]
