Oscar Thore Hedvall (born 9 August 1998) is a Danish professionalfootballer who plays for Norwegian clubVålerenga. He has played for several clubs in both theDanish Superliga andDanish 1st Division since making his debut for his childhood clubSilkeborg in 2019.
Hedvall made his professional debut on 3 March 2019, playing forSilkeborg in aDanish 1st Division match againstRoskilde. At age 20, his debut was a success as Silkeborg won the match 3–1.[2] Two months later, he was given a new four-year contract with Silkeborg until the summer of 2023.[3] He finished the season with 14 appearances for the club as they were promoted alongsideViborg to theDanish Superliga.[4][5]
Silkeborg struggled during the early part of their2019–20 season, with Hedvall allowing 14 goals in the club's first five matches.[6] The club changed goalkeepers by mid-September, benching Hedvall in favor of new signingRafael Romo.[7] Hedvall remained on the bench for the remainder of the season.[8] Following the club's relegation back to the 1st Division and Romo's departure,[9] he returned to a regular starting role. In a match againstFC Fredericia in December 2020, his season was cut short with a torncruciate ligament.[10]
In early 2022, after a year of recovery, Hedvall was loaned toFC Fredericia until the summer.[11] After 14 appearances for the club,[4] he returned to Silkeborg in May.[12] After no first-team appearances during Silkeborg's2022–23 season and the expiration of his contract, he joined Superliga clubMidtjylland on a three-year contract.[13] He was later made Midtjylland's third-choice goalkeeper and left after one season, failing to make any appearances.[4]
Citing a desire to play first-team football again,[14] Hedvall left Midtjylland and joined rivalViborg on a three-year contract.[15] He made his debut for the club on 18 August 2024 in a 1–1 draw againstCopenhagen.[16] He became the Viborg's first-choice goalkeeper afterLucas Lund faced internal discipline from the club.[17][18] After a battle during winter break training, it was unsure if Hedvall or Lund would become the first-choice goalkeeper to start games in the spring.[19] After 14 appearances in the fall, Hedvall failed to play again for the club and suggested in May that he would again be open to searching for a new club.[20]
On 23 July 2025, it was announced that Hedvall had joined Norwegian clubVålerenga[21] on a three-and-a-half year contract.[22] He made hisEliteserien debut for the club on 3 August in a 2–1 win.[23]
In May 2019, Hedvall was called up for theDenmark under-20 national team for matches againstIceland andNorway alongside several of his Silkeborg teammates.[24]
