Osaka University of Arts (大阪芸術大学,Ōsaka Geijutsu Daigaku) is a private arts university located inKanan,Minamikawachi District,Osaka Prefecture, Japan. The university was founded in 1945 asHirano English Cram School (平野英学塾,Hirano Eigakujuku), changing its name toOsaka School of the Fine Arts (大阪美術学校,Ōsaka Bijutsu Gakkō) in 1957, and then toNaniwa University of the Arts (浪速芸術大学,Naniwa Geijutsu Daigaku) in 1964. The university adopted the current name in 1966.
