TheOrsodacnidae are a small family of leaf beetles, previously included as a subfamily within theChrysomelidae. It is the smallest of the chrysomeloid families inNorth America;[1]Oxypeltidae is smaller, with only three species inSouth America. A fossil species ofAulacoscelis is known from theEarly Cretaceous (Aptian-Albian)Santana Group of Brazil.[2]
