Olyokminsk Airport (Yakut:Өлүөхүмэ Аэропорт,Ölömbünèèh Aeroporta) (IATA:OLZ,ICAO:UEMO) is an airport serving the urban locality ofOlyokminsk,Olyokminsky District, in theSakha Republic ofRussia. Opened in 1942. During theGreat Patriotic War, more than eight thousand combat aircraft flying from theUnited States to the front were delivered through the Olekminsk airfield along theAlsib air route.[4] Currently, the airport provides regular flights toYakutsk andIrkutsk.
