Lars Olof Thorell (born 1967) is aSwedish politician, teacher and member of theRiksdag, the nationallegislature. A member of theSocial Democratic Party, he has representedVästmanland County since October 2006.[1]
Thorell is the son of engineer Lars Håkan Thorell and teacher Kia Ericson (née Scherlund).[1] He was educated atJamestown High School in the United States and inHallstahammar.[1] He studied part-time atUppsala University and political science and economic history atMälardalen University College.[1] He taughtSwedish for immigrants (SFI) at theArbetarnas bildningsförbund (ABF) inHedemora between 1990 and 1995 and was aKomvux tutor inSala between 1995 and 1998.[1] He was ahigh school (högstadium) teacher inSurahammar Municipality between 1998 and 2004.[1]
