Oliver Saludares Bias[2] (German pronunciation:[ˈbiːas];[3] born 15 June 2001) is a professionalfootballer who plays as awinger forPhilippines Football League sideOne Taguig. Born in Germany, and a former German youth international, he plays for thePhilippines national team.[4]
Bias made his professional debut forRB Leipzig on 2 August 2018, coming on as a substitute in the 64th minute forIbrahima Konaté in theUEFA Europa League qualifying match against Swedish clubHäcken of theAllsvenskan. Thematch concluded in a 1–1 away draw.[5]
Bias joinedSlovakFortuna Liga clubFC Nitra in late January 2021.[6]
Bias was born to a German father and a Filipina mother which made him eligible to represent eitherGermany orPhilippines at international level.
Bias has played for the youth national teams of Germany.
Bias accepted a call-up to thePhilippines national team in May 2021 for the2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.[7] He made his debut on 7 June againstChina PR, where he picked up a yellow card in their 2–0 loss.[8][9]
Hecaptained thePhilippines U23 team at the2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers; they finished last in their group with a winless campaign.[10][11]
Bias was included in the 20-man squad for31st Southeast Asian Games, which was held inVietnam.[12]
