Oligopithecidae is an extinct basalCatarrhinefamily from the lateEocene ofEgypt (about 37 million years ago) as sister of the rest of the Catarrhines.[1][2][3] Its members were probablyinsectivorous, due to their simple molars and cusp arrangement.[4]
