Oleksiy Ivanovych Pecherov (Ukrainian:Олексій Іванович Печеров; born 8 December 1985) is a Ukrainian former professionalbasketball player. He was also a member of theUkraine national basketball team.
TheWashington Wizards selected him with the 18th pick in the2006 NBA draft; Pecherov signed a contract with the Wizards on 5 July 2007. Pecherov had previously played withParis Basket Racing internationally.
On 23 June 2009 he was traded along withEtan Thomas,Darius Songaila, and a first-round pick to theMinnesota Timberwolves forRandy Foye andMike Miller.[1]
On 16 August 2010 he signed withOlimpia Milano of theItalian league and theEuroleague for the 2010–11 season.[2] On 23 August 2011 he signed a two-year deal withBC Azovmash of Ukraine.[3]
On 9 November 2013 he signed a one-month deal withValencia BC of the SpanishACB League.[4]
On 22 January 2014 he signed withKrasnye Krylia of Russia for the rest of the 2013–14 season.[5] He left them on 6 May 2014.[6]
On 4 February 2015 he signed withKalev/Cramo of theKorvpalli Meistriliiga.[7]
On 28 September 2015 Pecherov signed with theDenver Nuggets.[8] However, he was later waived by the Nuggets on October 24 after appearing in one preseason game.[9]
On 3 February 2016 he signed withHekmeh of theLebanese Basketball League.[10]
