Oleksandr Bohdanovych Korpan (Ukrainian:Олександр Богданович Корпан; 8 September 1994 – 2 March 2022) was a Ukrainian military pilot (captain) of theUkrainian Air Force of theArmed Forces of Ukraine, participant in theRusso-Ukrainian war, the best strike aircraft pilot in 2021.[1] He isHero of Ukraine (2022).
Korpan was born inStarokostiantyniv,Khmelnytskyi Oblast.
He graduated from music school andKharkiv Military University [uk].
He served in the299th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after General Vasily Nikoforov as commander of the aviation squadron of this brigade.[2]
Korpan died on 2 March 2022 during a combat flight in the airspace over Starokostiantyniv.
He was buried on 7 March 2022 at the cemetery inHalych,Ternopil Oblast.[3]
