Odintsovsky District (Russian:Одинцо́вский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of thethirty-six inMoscow Oblast,Russia. It is located in the western central part of theoblast and borders with thefederal city ofMoscow in the east,Leninsky District in the southeast,Naro-Fominsky District in the south,Ruzsky District in the west,Istrinsky District in the north, and withKrasnogorsky District in the northeast. The area of the district is 1,289.628 square kilometers (497.928 sq mi).[2] Itsadministrative center is thecity ofOdintsovo.[1] Population: 316,696 (2010 Census);[3]286,033 (2002 census);[7]129,343 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Odintsovo accounts for 43.9% of the district's total population.[3] The city ofBaikonur inKazakhstan also belongs administratively to the district.[9][10]

Major attractions include theKubinka Tank Museum, Grebnevskaya Church, and theMain Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces and theVjazjomy estate manor house.
