Group of isomers (C8H17OH)
Not to be confused withoctanal,octanyl,octanoyl,octenol,octynol, oroctonal.

Octanols arealcohols with the formula C8H17OH. A simple and important member is1-octanol, with an unbranched chain of carbons. Other commercially important octanols are2-octanol and2-ethylhexanol. Some octanols occur naturally in the form ofesters in some essential oils.[1]
