Ochaun Mathis (born January 8, 1999) is an American professionalfootballlinebacker for theCleveland Browns of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theTCU Horned Frogs andNebraska Cornhuskers.
Mathis grew up inManor, Texas and attended Manor High School.[1] He was rated a three-star recruit and committed to playcollege football atTexas Christian University (TCU) over offers fromOklahoma,Texas, andTexas Tech.[2]
Mathis began his college career playing for theTCU Horned Frogs. He played in four games as a true freshman beforeredshirting the season.[3] He had 40 tackles with nine tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in his redshirt freshman season.[4] Mathis was named second teamAll-Big 12 Conference after making 46 tackles with 14 tackles for loss and a team-high nine sacks in 2020.[5] He repeated as a second team All-Big 12 selection in 2021 after recording 45 tackles with seven tackles for loss and four sacks.[6] Following the end of the season Mathis entered theNCAA transfer portal.[7]
Mathis ultimately transferred toNebraska.[8]

Mathis was selected by theLos Angeles Rams in the sixth round, 189th overall, of the2023 NFL draft. The pick was previously traded to the Rams by theTennessee Titans in exchange forRobert Woods.[11] He was placed oninjured reserve on September 1, 2023.[12] He was activated on October 7.[13]
On August 25, 2024, Mathis was waived by the Rams.[14]
On August 30, 2024, Mathis was signed to theNew England Patriots practice squad.[15] On October 29, he was promoted to the active roster.[16] On November 19, Mathis was released.[17]
On November 22, 2024, Mathis was signed to thePhiladelphia Eagles practice squad.[18] He won a Super Bowl championship when the Eagles defeated theKansas City Chiefs 40–22 inSuper Bowl LIX.[19] He signed a reserve/future contract with Philadelphia on February 14, 2025.[20]
On August 26, 2025, Mathis was waived by the Eagles as part of final roster cuts.[21]
On October 21, 2025, Mathis signed with theTennessee Titans' practice squad.[22] He was released by the Titans on October 28.[23]
On November 11, 2025, Mathis signed with theCleveland Browns' practice squad.[24]
