TheOceania Handball Nations Championship was the official competition for senior nationalhandball teams ofOceania, and took place every two years. In addition to crowning the Oceania champions, the tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for theWorld Handball Championship. Also played is thePacific Handball Cup where states of other countries such asNew Caledonia,Tahiti andWallis and Futuna (France) andMarshall Islands,Guam andAmerican Samoa (USA) who are ineligible forInternational Handball Federation world championship events, compete against member nations.

  1. ^abcdThere were two NGOs for handball in New Zealand. TheHandball New Zealand (HNZ) andNew Zealand Handball Federation (NZHF). The HNZ was suspended byNew Zealand Olympic Committee in 2006.[1] Both NGOs sent teams to the qualification.
