Traditional system of measurement used by Tatars
TraditionalTatar units of measurement were used byTatars until 1924 but became obsolete when theSoviet Union adopted themetric system .
The Tatar system shares many units with theRussian system (e.g.sajın anddisätinä ), which is close to the English (theRussian system underPeter the Great was redefined relative to theEnglish system ), therefore aduym is relatively equal to an inch. This list includes theirTatar language names.
