Nxuba Local Municipality formerly known asCradock Local Municipality, was an administrative area in theAmatole District of theEastern Cape inSouth Africa. TheFish River, as it is now called, was first named Nxuba River byKing Sandile in the 18th century[3] Aftermunicipal elections on 3 August 2016 it was merged into the largerRaymond Mhlaba Local Municipality.

Politics

The municipal council consisted of eight members elected bymixed-member proportional representation. Four councillors were elected byfirst-past-the-post voting in fourwards, while the remaining four were chosen fromparty lists so that the total number of party representatives was proportional to the number of votes received. In theelection of 18 May 2011 theAfrican National Congress (ANC) won a majority of five seats on the council.The following table shows the results of the election.[5][6]
