Nuquí is a municipality and town in theChocó Department,Colombia. The municipality of Nuquí is located in the department of Chocó in the Western part of Colombia between the mountainous area ofBaudó and the Pacific Ocean. Nuquí has a great cultural diversity as well as a big variety of flora and fauna.Nuquí has 8096 inhabitants, 3095 of which live in the municipal capital. The majority of the population are Afro-Colombians, another part of the population is represented by members of indigenous tribes.Nuquí was founded as a municipality in 1915, before it was a sub-division of the municipality Valle, Chocó.[2]
Nuquí is the original hometown of members of the acclaimed Latinhip hop andurbano group,ChocQuib Town; the band released a song titled “Nuquí (Te Quiero Para Mí)”, with the song’s music video being filmed exclusively in and around Nuquí and its picturesque beaches.
Nuquí is served by theReyes Murillo Airport.
Nuquí has a very wettropical rainforest climate (Af) with very heavy rainfall year-round.

El municipio de Nuquí se localiza en el departamento del Chocó al occidente de Colombia entre la serranía del Baudó y el océano Pacífico. Nuquí posee gran diversidad étnica, cultural y una gran variedad de fauna y flora. la temperatura promedio de Nuquí oscila entre los 28 y 30 grados centígrados. Nuquí cuenta con 8.096 habitantes. 3095 corresponden a la cabecera Municipal, en la zona urbana hay 2679 y 1592 de las comunidades Indígenas. la mayor parte de su población está conformada por Afro colombianos. Nuquí empezó a ser municipio en 1915, antes era un corregimiento del municipio del Valle Chocó.
