Northway Airport (IATA:ORT,ICAO:PAOR,FAALID:ORT) is a state-owned public-useairport servingNorthway, a community located in theSoutheast Fairbanks Census Area of theU.S. state ofAlaska.[1] It is included in theNational Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, whichcategorized it as ageneral aviation facility.[2]
DuringWorld War II for northbound Lend-Lease aircraft on theNorthwest Staging Route, the flight strip atNorthway Army Airfield was the first stop in theTerritory of Alaska.[3]

Northway Airport covers an area of 1,150acres (465ha) at anelevation of 1,715 feet (523 m) abovemean sea level. It has onerunway designated 5/23 with anasphalt surface measuring 5,100 by 100 feet (1,554 x 30 m).[1]
For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2005, the airport had 15,800 aircraft operations, an average of 43 per day: 73%general aviation, 25%air taxi, and 2%military.[1]
