Northern Ireland competed at the2018 Commonwealth Games in theGold Coast,Australia from April 4 to April 15, 2018.[1] On January 3, 2017 Northern Ireland announced its decision to send a squad of 88 athletes to the games.[2] A final team of 90 competed.

Netball athleteCaroline O’Hanlon was the country's flag bearer during theopening ceremony.[3]

Netball

TheNorthern Ireland national netball team qualified for theNetball at the 2018 Commonwealth Games due to being ranked in the top 11 of theINF World Rankings on July 1, 2017.[4][5][6] Northern Ireland announced its team of 12 athletes on January 3, 2017.[2] 2018 saw Northern Ireland make their second appearance at theCommonwealth Games.[7] Netball team captain,Caroline O'Hanlon, carried theflag of Northern Ireland during the2018 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.[3][8] Northern Ireland eventually finished eighth after losing toMalawi by 60–52 in a classification match.[9]
