TheNorth Branch Birch River is a 9.6-mile-long (15.4 km)[1] river inAroostook County,Maine, in theUnited States. From the outlet of a small pond (47°04′31″N68°47′52″W / 47.0753°N 68.7977°W /47.0753; -68.7977 (North Branch Birch River source)) in Maine Township 16, Range 8, WELS, it runs about 6 miles (10 km) east and about 3 miles (5 km) south to itsconfluence with theSouth Branch in the town ofEagle Lake to form theBirch River. It is part of theFish River watershed, draining north to theSaint John River and ultimately southeast to theBay of Fundy inNew Brunswick,Canada.
