Norman Macdougall is aScottish historian who is known for writing aboutScottish crown politics.[1] He was a senior lecturer in Scottish history at theUniversity of St Andrews.
Macdougall has written biographies of the kingsJames III of Scotland andJames IV of Scotland. He was also responsible for editing a biography ofJames V of Scotland. Other publications include a work on theAuld Alliance, and editingScotland and War, to which he also contributed an article onJames IV'sGreat Michael.
