Nokari is a village in theRanaghat IICD block in theRanaghat subdivision of theNadia district in the state ofWest Bengal,India

The maps of Ranaghat I and Ranaghat II CD blocks, in theDistrict Census Handbook 2011, Nadia, shows the census towns ofKamgachhi,Raghabpur,Panpara,Aistala,Satigachha,Anulia,Halalpur Krishnapur,Hijuli andRanaghat (CT) forming a cluster aroundRanaghat. Certain other localities such as Nokari,Nasra,Cooper's Camp,Birnagar,Habibpur,Gopalpur andParbbatipur are also linked with this cluster.[1]
Nadia district is mostly alluvial plains lying to the east ofHooghly River, locally known as Bhagirathi. The alluvial plains are cut across by such distributaries as Jalangi, Churni and Ichhamati. With these rivers getting silted up, floods are a recurring feature.[2] The Ranaghat subdivision has theBhagirathi on the west, withPurba Bardhaman andHooghly districts lying across the river. Topographically, Ranaghat subdivision is spread across the Krishnanagar-Santipur Plain, which occupies the central part of the district, and the Ranaghat-Chakdaha Plain, the low-lying area found in the south-eastern part of the district. TheChurni separates the two plains. A portion of the east forms the boundary withBangladesh. The lower portion of the east is covered by a portion of theNorth 24 Parganas district.[3] The subdivision has achieved reasonably high urbanisation. 41.68% of the population lives in urban areas and 58.32% lives in rural areas.[4]

According to the2011 Census of India, Nokari had a total population of 5,032, of which 2,582 (51%) were males and 2,450 (49%) were females. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 443. The total number of literate persons in Nokari was 3,583 (78.08% of the population over 6 years).[5]
The headquarters of Ranaghat II CD block are located at Nokari.[6]
There is aBank of India branch in Nokari beside flower market and a Kisan CO-Operative Bank Near Nokari Gram Panchayat Office.[citation needed]
Nokari flower market provides a variety of flowers for decorations and other purposes.[citation needed]
Nokari GSFP Primary School is the only primary school of Nokari. Students of Nokari prefer to go Purnanagar_Purna_Chandra_Higher_Secondary_School andPal Choudhury High School for high school education.[citation needed] A large number of students are the alumni ofRanaghat College.
A short stretch of Ranaghat-Duttapulia Road connects Nokari to Aistala, whereNational Highway 12 (India) meetsState Highway 11 (West Bengal).
