Chemical compound

Nocardicin A is a monocyclicβ-lactam antibiotic included in themonobactam subclass. It is obtained from the fermentation broth of a strain of actinomycetesNocardia uniformis subsp.tsuyamenensis as a metabolic product catalyzed by theenzyme nocardicin-A epimerase. It is stereochemically and biologically related topenicillin andcephalosporins.^[1]^{[citation needed]}
