No. 9 Squadron RCAF was aRoyal Canadian Air Force squadron active during theSecond World War, primarily in an anti-submarine role with Western Air Command and was based atBella Bella, British Columbia. The squadron flew theSupermarine Stranraer,Consolidated Canso andConsolidated Catalina before disbanding on 1 September 1944.[2]

4 XXnnn where XX was the unit code and nnn was the last 3 digits of the serial number. Unit code was replaced with "RCAF" in 1958
